Financial Statement Disclosure Checklist: [Entity name] [Period]
A review checklist for annual financial statements, organised by
statement and by topic, that records for each disclosure area whether
it applies, where it is presented and who reviewed it. Covers IFRS
Accounting Standards (IAS 1 until periods beginning before
2027-01-01, IFRS 18 from 2027-01-01) with US GAAP topic numbers for
comparison, plus UK, SEC and EU listed-issuer items and sustainability
cross-references. Every item is written in original wording at topic
level and cites the standard by number only: it is not a substitute
for the standards or for a full published checklist, and it does not
reproduce any. Obtain the standard for the normative text. Replace
every [bracketed] value and every row marked Example. This is a
document format, not accounting, audit, legal or financial advice.

1. Framework and entity profile
The profile records the facts that decide which parts of the checklist apply. Complete it with the controller of each significant entity and with treasury, tax and legal, because each holds facts the reporting team may not know. Revisit it when a late event changes the facts, for example a disposal agreed after the year end.
| ID | Scoping question | Answer | Evidence | Tables affected |
|---|
| PRF-001 | Are the entity's equity or debt securities traded on a regulated or public market, or is it filing to do so? | Example: Yes: shares listed in London; ADSs listed in New York (SEC foreign private issuer, Form 20-F) | Listing prospectus, deposit agreement | 6.11, 7 |
| PRF-002 | Which framework applies, and is it the version adopted in the entity's jurisdiction? | Example: UK-adopted international accounting standards; compliance with IFRS as issued by the IASB also stated for Form 20-F; parent company individual accounts under the Companies Act 2006 | Policy manual section 1 | All |
| PRF-003 | Did the group acquire or dispose of a business or subsidiary during the period or after it? | Example: No acquisitions; one minority equity stake held | Legal entity register | 6.9 |
| PRF-004 | Does the group have operations that meet the held-for-sale or discontinued criteria? | Example: No | Board minutes | 6.13 |
| PRF-005 | Does the group apply hedge accounting? | Example: Yes, cash flow hedges of forecast USD and GBP purchases | Hedge documentation | 6.3 |
| PRF-006 | Does the group have defined benefit plans or share-based payments? | Example: No defined benefit plans; share options and RSUs | Policy manual section 7 | 6.7 |
| PRF-007 | Does the group operate in jurisdictions in scope of the Pillar Two rules, or is it in scope by size? | Example: Below the revenue threshold; confirm annually | Pillar Two GloBE Readiness (finance/pillar-two-globe-readiness) | 6.8 |
| PRF-008 | Does any entity have a functional currency other than the presentation currency, or operate in a hyperinflationary economy? | Example: GBP, USD and VND entities; none hyperinflationary | Policy manual section 9 | 6.12 |
| PRF-009 | Were there changes in policy, corrections of errors or new standards applied for the first time? | Example: No policy change; capitalised development started on new facts (TAM-2026-011) | Change log | 3, 5 |
| PRF-010 | Is the entity in scope of sustainability reporting requirements for this period or the next? | Example: See section 8 | Legal analysis | 8 |
| PRF-011 | Are there material uncertainties about going concern? | Example: No material uncertainty | Going Concern Assessment (finance/going-concern-assessment) | 3 |
| PRF-012 | Does the group receive government grants, hold investment property, agricultural assets or insurance contracts? | Example: A Vietnam research grant only | Grant agreement | 6.15 |
2. How to complete the checklist
2.1 Response codes
| Code | Meaning | Evidence required |
|---|
| Y | Applies and is disclosed | Note and page reference; preparer confirmed every requirement in the topic against the standard or the full checklist |
| N | Applies but not disclosed | Open item in section 10 with owner and due date |
| NA | Does not apply to the entity | Short reason, usually a profile answer from section 1 |
| IM | Applies but omitted as immaterial | Materiality reasoning recorded in section 10.2 and approved by the final reviewer |
2.2 Working method
Work from the latest full draft of the statements, not from the previous year's statements. For each topic table, the preparer first decides whether the topic applies, using the profile answers. For each applicable topic, the preparer then opens the standard named in the reference column (or the corresponding section of a licensed full disclosure checklist, if the entity uses one) and checks each requirement against the draft note. The row is marked Y only when every requirement in that topic is either met or separately recorded as N or IM. Record in the comment column which source was used and anything that a reviewer should look at closely.
Two things make a checklist review effective. First, the person who drafted a note should not be the only person who checks it: assign a second preparer to the most judgemental topics (revenue, financial instruments, impairment, income taxes). Second, the reviewer should test the substance as well as the presence of disclosures: a revenue note that discloses disaggregation by geography only, when the business is managed by product line, may pass a presence check and still fail the purpose of the requirement.
Keep each version of the checklist with the draft of the statements it reviewed. When a later draft changes a note, update the affected rows and record the draft number in the comment. Freeze the checklist at the date the statements are authorised for issue.
2.3 Common errors
Experience from year-end reviews shows recurring problems, which the reviewer should look for deliberately. Disclosures are copied from the prior year and no longer match the current facts, such as a reference to a facility that has been refinanced. Numbers in the notes do not agree with the primary statements or with each other, especially in the tax reconciliation, the lease liability roll-forward and the segment reconciliation. Accounting policy text describes a standard in general terms rather than the entity's own choices. New items for the year, such as a first-time hedge or a new grant, have no disclosure because nobody updated the profile. Judgements and estimates disclosures list too many items, so the truly significant ones are lost. And subsequent events between the draft and the authorisation date are not reflected.
3. General presentation and basis of preparation
| ID | Topic | Reference (FY2026; from FY2027) | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| GEN-001 | Statement of compliance with the framework | IAS 1; IAS 8 as amended | ASC 105, ASC 235 | Example: Y | Note 1 | Dual compliance statement: UK-adopted and IASB |
| GEN-002 | Going concern basis and any material uncertainty | IAS 1; IAS 8 as amended | ASC 205-40 | Example: Y | Note 1 | No material uncertainty; see PRF-011 |
| GEN-003 | Comparative information, including restated or reclassified comparatives | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 205 | Example: Y | Note 1 | No reclassifications in FY2026 |
| GEN-004 | Complete set of statements and their titles | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 205 | Example: Y | Primary statements | |
| GEN-005 | Presentation currency, rounding and reporting period | IAS 1; IFRS 18; IAS 21 | ASC 830 | Example: Y | Note 1 | EUR thousand |
| GEN-006 | Aggregation and disaggregation, offsetting | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 210-20 | Example: Y | Throughout | Reviewer checks no material items are combined |
| GEN-007 | Capital management | IAS 1 (location may change under IFRS 18; check) | Not required | Example: Y | Note 24 | |
| GEN-008 | Events after the reporting period, date of authorisation and who authorised | IAS 10 | ASC 855 | Example: Y | Note 30 | Update at authorisation |
| GEN-009 | Domicile, legal form, registered office, nature of operations, parent and ultimate parent | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 275 | Example: Y | Note 1 | |
| GEN-010 | Changes in accounting policies, estimates and prior-period errors | IAS 8 | ASC 250 | Example: NA | | No policy change; see PRF-009 |
Going concern deserves a deliberate review even in a healthy year, because the auditor's work on it is expanding: ISA 570 (Revised 2024) applies to audits of periods beginning on or after 2026-12-15, so for a calendar-year entity it first applies to FY2027. Make sure the note and the management assessment use the same look-forward period, the same forecast and the same conclusion, and that any significant judgement about whether an uncertainty is material is disclosed.
4. Primary statements
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| PRI-001 | Statement of financial position: line items, current and non-current split | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 210 | Example: Y | SFP | |
| PRI-002 | Statement of profit or loss: line items, subtotals and analysis of expenses | IAS 1 (FY2026); IFRS 18 categories and subtotals (from FY2027) | ASC 220; ASU 2024-03 and ASU 2025-01 (DISE) | Example: Y | SPL | Corvid presents by function; FY2027 mapping in the IFRS 18 transition plan |
| PRI-003 | Other comprehensive income: items that will and will not be reclassified, tax on OCI | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 220 | Example: Y | SOCI | Translation reserve, cash flow hedge reserve, FVOCI equity |
| PRI-004 | Statement of changes in equity and reserve descriptions | IAS 1; IFRS 18 | ASC 505 | Example: Y | SOCE | |
| PRI-005 | Statement of cash flows: classification, interest and dividends, non-cash transactions | IAS 7 (as amended by IFRS 18 from FY2027) | ASC 230 | Example: Y | SCF | Capitalised development shown in investing (TAM-2026-011); from FY2027 interest paid in financing and interest received in investing, operating profit as starting point |
| PRI-006 | Reconciliation of liabilities arising from financing activities | IAS 7 | ASC 230 (not required in the same form) | Example: Y | Note 21 | Includes lease liabilities |
| PRI-007 | Supplier finance arrangements | IAS 7; IFRS 7 | ASC 405-50 | Example: NA | | No such programme |
| PRI-008 | Earnings per share on the face of the statement | IAS 33 | ASC 260 | Example: Y | SPL, Note 12 | Listed entity |
Cross-cast every primary statement and agree each line to the trial balance mapping before any note is reviewed. Then agree every note total to its line item. Most late changes in the audit come from numbers that stopped agreeing after an adjustment was posted to the ledger but not carried through to the notes, so rerun this agreement after every late adjustment.
5. Accounting policies, judgements and estimates
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| POL-001 | Material accounting policy information | IAS 1 (FY2026); IAS 8 as amended (from FY2027) | ASC 235 | Example: Y | Note 2 | Agree text to the Accounting Policy Manual |
| POL-002 | Significant judgements in applying policies | IAS 1; IAS 8 as amended | ASC 275 | Example: Y | Note 3 | JUD-001, JUD-002 |
| POL-003 | Sources of estimation uncertainty, with sensitivity where meaningful | IAS 1; IAS 8 as amended | ASC 275 | Example: Y | Note 3 | EST-001 to EST-003 |
| POL-004 | Standards issued but not yet effective, with expected effect | IAS 8 | SEC Staff Accounting Bulletin topic 11.M for US GAAP registrants | Example: Y | Note 2 | See section 9 |
Compare the judgements and estimates note with the list of significant risks in the auditor's plan and with the key audit matters the auditor expects to report. An item that appears as a key audit matter but not as a significant judgement or estimate in the notes needs an explanation, and the reverse is also worth checking.
6. Topic checklists
Work through the topic tables in the order of the notes, so the reviewer can follow the statements page by page. Four topics carry most of the review risk in a typical commercial group: revenue, financial instruments, impairment and income taxes. For these, ask the second preparer to read the note as an investor would, before checking it against the standard, and to write down the three questions the note leaves unanswered. Those questions are often a better guide to missing information than the requirement list itself.
6.1 Revenue
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| REV-001 | Disaggregation of revenue | IFRS 15 | ASC 606 | Example: Y | Note 5 | By segment and geography; agree to segment note |
| REV-002 | Contract balances and their changes | IFRS 15 | ASC 606 | Example: Y | Note 5 | Deferred subscription revenue, refund liabilities |
| REV-003 | Performance obligations and remaining performance obligations | IFRS 15 | ASC 606 | Example: Y | Note 5 | IFRS 15 offers only the one-year and right-to-invoice exemptions; the US GAAP variable consideration exemption has no IFRS equivalent |
| REV-004 | Significant judgements in applying the revenue standard | IFRS 15 | ASC 606 | Example: Y | Note 3, Note 5 | Principal or agent for marketplace |
| REV-005 | Assets recognised from costs to obtain or fulfil a contract | IFRS 15 | ASC 340-40 | Example: Y | Note 16 | Capitalised commissions |
Agree the disaggregation to the segment note and to the revenue descriptions in the management report, because investors compare all three. Check that the contract balance movements explain the significant changes in the year in words, not only in numbers, and that the remaining performance obligation figure uses the same population of contracts as the deferred revenue balance.
6.2 Leases
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| LEA-001 | Right-of-use assets by class and lease expense items | IFRS 16 | ASC 842 | Example: Y | Note 14 | |
| LEA-002 | Lease liabilities and maturity analysis | IFRS 16; IFRS 7 | ASC 842 | Example: Y | Note 21 | |
| LEA-003 | Short-term and low-value exemptions used | IFRS 16 | ASC 842 | Example: Y | Note 14 | |
| LEA-004 | Lessor disclosures and subleases | IFRS 16 | ASC 842 | Example: NA | | No lessor activity |
6.3 Financial instruments and fair value
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| FIN-001 | Categories of financial assets and liabilities | IFRS 7; IFRS 9 | ASC 825 | Example: Y | Note 25 | |
| FIN-002 | Credit risk and expected credit losses, including the loss allowance reconciliation | IFRS 7; IFRS 9 | ASC 326 | Example: Y | Note 25 | Provision matrix |
| FIN-003 | Liquidity risk and maturity analysis | IFRS 7 | ASC 825 (limited) | Example: Y | Note 25 | |
| FIN-004 | Market risk, including currency and interest rate sensitivity | IFRS 7 | SEC registrants: Regulation S-K Item 305 (domestic) or Form 20-F Item 11 (foreign private issuers) | Example: Y | Note 25 | |
| FIN-005 | Hedge accounting: strategy, effect on position and performance, reserve movements | IFRS 7; IFRS 9 | ASC 815 | Example: Y | Note 26 | First-year hedges: check completeness |
| FIN-006 | Fair value hierarchy, valuation techniques and level 3 movements | IFRS 13 | ASC 820 | Example: Y | Note 25 | Minority stake is level 3 |
| FIN-007 | Equity investments designated at FVOCI | IFRS 7 | ASC 321 (different model) | Example: Y | Note 17 | |
| FIN-008 | Offsetting and collateral | IFRS 7; IAS 32 | ASC 210-20 | Example: NA | | No master netting |
| FIN-009 | Borrowings, covenants and breaches | IFRS 7; IAS 1 (classification of liabilities with covenants) | ASC 470 | Example: Y | Note 21 | Covenants met throughout FY2026 |
Financial instruments disclosures are long, so assign the treasury accountant as second preparer. Agree the maturity analysis to contractual undiscounted cash flows, not to carrying amounts, and agree the sensitivity analysis to the treasury risk report. For first-year hedge accounting, check that the hedge relationships listed in the note match the designation documentation.
6.4 Property and equipment, intangibles, goodwill and impairment
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| PPE-001 | Reconciliation of carrying amounts by class, methods and useful lives | IAS 16 | ASC 360 | Example: Y | Note 13 | |
| INT-001 | Reconciliation of carrying amounts by class, useful lives, research and development expensed | IAS 38 | ASC 350 | Example: Y | Note 15 | New class: capitalised development |
| IMP-001 | Goodwill allocation to cash-generating units and key assumptions | IAS 36 | ASC 350 | Example: Y | Note 15 | Marketplace DACH goodwill 21,000k; Vietnam engineering services goodwill nil after impairment; annual test date 31 October; agree to IMP-2026-001 |
| IMP-002 | Sensitivity of recoverable amount to key assumptions | IAS 36 | ASC 350 (not required in the same form) | Example: Y | Note 15 | Marketplace DACH headroom 3,877k (9.1%); discount rate +0.68 pp removes it |
| IMP-003 | Impairment losses and reversals recognised | IAS 36 | ASC 350, ASC 360 | Example: Y | Note 15 | Vietnam engineering services CGU, loss EUR 2,600k (goodwill 2,000k, other assets 600k), event: end of external client contracts; services segment |
| PPE-002 | Investment property | IAS 40 | ASC 360 | Example: NA | | None |
| PPE-003 | Borrowing costs capitalised | IAS 23 | ASC 835-20 | Example: NA | | No qualifying assets |
6.5 Inventories
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|

| INV-002 | Inventory expensed, write-downs and reversals | IAS 2 | ASC 330 | Example: Y | Note 18 | |
6.6 Provisions and contingencies
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| PRV-001 | Provisions by class with movements | IAS 37 | ASC 450, ASC 410 | Example: Y | Note 22 | Warranty, dilapidations |
| PRV-002 | Contingent liabilities and contingent assets | IAS 37 | ASC 450 | Example: Y | Note 28 | Agree to legal confirmation |
| PRV-003 | Guarantees given | IFRS 9; IAS 37 | ASC 460 | Example: Y | Note 28 | Parent guarantee of UK lease |

| EMP-002 | Defined benefit plans | IAS 19 | ASC 715 | Example: NA | | None (PRF-006) |
| EMP-003 | Share-based payment arrangements, movements and fair value inputs | IFRS 2 | ASC 718 | Example: Y | Note 9 | |
| EMP-004 | Key management personnel compensation | IAS 24 | ASC 850; SEC registrants: Regulation S-K Item 402 (domestic) or Form 20-F Item 6.B (foreign private issuers) | Example: Y | Note 29 | Agree to remuneration report |
6.8 Income taxes
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| TAX-001 | Components of tax expense | IAS 12 | ASC 740 | Example: Y | Note 11 | |
| TAX-002 | Tax rate reconciliation | IAS 12 | ASC 740 as amended by ASU 2023-09 | Example: Y | Note 11 | Recompute from the provision workpaper |
| TAX-003 | Deferred tax assets and liabilities by type, unrecognised items | IAS 12 | ASC 740 | Example: Y | Note 11 | New liability for capitalised development |
| TAX-004 | Uncertain tax treatments | IAS 12; IFRIC 23 | ASC 740 | Example: Y | Note 3, Note 11 | |
| TAX-005 | Pillar Two exposure and the deferred tax exception | IAS 12 (International Tax Reform amendments) | ASC 740 | Example: NA | | Below threshold (PRF-007) |
Tax notes are the most frequent source of late audit adjustments, because the provision is finalised last. Recompute the rate reconciliation from the provision workpaper in Income Tax Provision (finance/income-tax-provision), agree every deferred tax movement to profit or loss, other comprehensive income or equity, and confirm that new temporary differences created during the year (such as capitalised development) appear in the deferred tax table.
6.9 Group structure and business combinations
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| GRP-001 | Subsidiaries, significant judgements on control | IFRS 12; IFRS 10 | ASC 810 | Example: Y | Note 31 | |

| RPT-002 | Related party transactions and balances by category | IAS 24 | ASC 850 | Example: Y | Note 29 | Agree to Related Party Register |
6.11 Segments and earnings per share
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| SEG-001 | Operating segments, measures reviewed by the chief operating decision maker, reconciliations | IFRS 8 | ASC 280 as amended by ASU 2023-07 | Example: Y | Note 4 | Subscription, commerce, services |
| SEG-002 | Entity-wide information: products, geography, major customers | IFRS 8 | ASC 280 | Example: Y | Note 4 | |
| EPS-001 | Basic and diluted EPS, reconciliation of share numbers, anti-dilutive instruments | IAS 33 | ASC 260 | Example: Y | Note 12 | |
Segment information must match what the chief operating decision maker actually receives. Obtain the monthly board pack and compare its measures and segments to the note; a mismatch is a common regulator finding. Check that the reconciliation of segment profit to group profit before tax casts and that unallocated items are explained.
6.12 Foreign currency
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| FX-001 | Exchange differences in profit or loss and in the translation reserve | IAS 21 | ASC 830 | Example: Y | Note 10, SOCE | |
| FX-002 | Change in functional currency, or lack of exchangeability | IAS 21 | ASC 830 | Example: NA | | |
| FX-003 | Hyperinflationary economies | IAS 29 | ASC 830 | Example: NA | | |
6.13 Held for sale and discontinued operations
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| HFS-001 | Assets held for sale and disposal groups | IFRS 5 | ASC 360 | Example: NA | | PRF-004 |
| HFS-002 | Discontinued operations | IFRS 5 | ASC 205-20 | Example: NA | | |
6.14 Government grants and other topics
| ID | Topic | Reference | US GAAP comparison | Applies | Note ref | Comment |
|---|
| OTH-001 | Government grants and assistance | IAS 20 | No specific topic for business entities; ASC 832 disclosures | Example: Y | Note 15 | Vietnam research grant deducted from asset cost |
| OTH-002 | Insurance contracts issued | IFRS 17 | ASC 944 | Example: NA | | |
| OTH-003 | Agriculture | IAS 41 | ASC 905 | Example: NA | | |
| OTH-004 | Interim reporting (half-year report) | IAS 34 | ASC 270 | Example: NA | | Annual checklist; use a separate interim checklist |
Close the topic review by rereading the notes for consistency with each other. The same fact often appears in several notes (a facility in borrowings, liquidity risk, covenants and going concern; an acquisition in business combinations, goodwill and cash flows), and each mention must agree in amount, date and description.
7. Listed issuer and regulatory items
Items in this section depend on the entity's listing venue and country of incorporation. The example is a UK company listed in London with American Depositary Shares in New York, so the UK block and the SEC block apply and the EU block is shown for EU-incorporated issuers only and marked NA for Corvid. Record the law that applies in the reference column, delete the blocks that do not apply, and add rows for any other market. The table is a prompt to check each item with the people responsible, not a summary of the law.

Check the iXBRL and XBRL tagging of the final documents separately from this checklist: tagging errors, extensions and anchoring are a technical review with its own sign-off. The text of the notes in the tagged versions must match the authorised statements exactly, and the UK annual report and the Form 20-F must present the same financial statements. When the two documents are published on different dates, rerun the events after the reporting period review (GEN-008) for the later one.
8. Sustainability reporting cross-references
Decide first whether the entity is in scope for the period, and record the legal basis and the thresholds you relied on. In the EU, the Omnibus I Directive (EU) 2026/470 raised the scope of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive to undertakings with more than 1,000 employees and more than EUR 450 million turnover, with reporting under the revised scope from FY2027; Member States may exempt companies that were already reporting but fall below the new thresholds for FY2025 and FY2026. Check the consolidated text and the national transposition. Simplified European Sustainability Reporting Standards were adopted by the Commission on 2026-07-03 for financial years beginning on or after 2027-01-01; check the delegated regulation in the Official Journal. Outside the EU, jurisdictions adopting the ISSB standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2) set their own scope and dates.
For a parent incorporated outside the EU, the relevant EU test is the third-country undertaking regime, which looks at net turnover generated in the EU; check the thresholds in the amended Directive 2013/34/EU. UK companies also have their own requirements: climate-related financial disclosures in the strategic report for larger companies, climate-related statements under the UK Listing Rules, and UK Sustainability Reporting Standards based on IFRS S1 and S2 once the UK sets requirements for them (check the current position).
Example: Corvid had 685 full-time equivalent employees at the end of FY2026 and FY2026 revenue of EUR 140 million, so it is far below the EU third-country turnover test and outside mandatory EU sustainability reporting. As a UK traded company with more than 500 employees, it includes climate-related financial disclosures in its strategic report (REG-003) and a climate-related statement under the UK Listing Rules on a comply-or-explain basis. Legal counsel confirms the position each year, and the reporting team checks the climate disclosures for consistency with the financial statements using the rows below.
| ID | Cross-reference to check | Reference | Applies | Comment |
|---|
| SUS-001 | Scope decision and legal basis recorded | Directive (EU) 2026/470 and the third-country regime of Directive 2013/34/EU; Companies Act 2006 section 414CB; UK Listing Rules | Example: Y | Outside EU scope; UK climate disclosures apply (confirm annually) |
| SUS-002 | Climate-related assumptions in the financial statements (impairment, useful lives, provisions) consistent with the sustainability narrative | IAS 36, IAS 16, IAS 37; IFRS S2 where applied | Example: Y | Agree to impairment memo |
| SUS-003 | Financial amounts quoted in the sustainability section agree to the statements | Internal consistency | Example: Y | Capex and revenue figures |
| SUS-004 | Materiality assessment documented | Sustainability Double Materiality Assessment (finance/sustainability-double-materiality-assessment) | Example: NA | No EU double materiality report required; UK climate disclosures are assessed for the strategic report |
For entities in scope, the sustainability statement has its own disclosure review, and its assurance follows the assurance standard that applies in the jurisdiction (ISSA 5000 applies to assurance engagements for periods beginning on or after 2026-12-15). Use ISSB Sustainability Disclosure (finance/issb-sustainability-disclosure) when reporting under IFRS S1 and S2.
9. New standards issued but not yet applied
| ID | Standard or amendment | Effective for periods beginning on or after | Expected effect disclosed | Assessment reference |
|---|
| NSA-001 (Example) | IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements (replaces IAS 1; EU endorsed 2026-02-13; check UK adoption) | 2027-01-01, retrospective | Changes in the structure of profit or loss, new MPM note; no effect on net profit | IFRS 18 Transition Plan (finance/ifrs-18-transition-plan) |
| NSA-002 (Example) | IFRS 19 Subsidiaries without Public Accountability: Disclosures | 2027-01-01 | Not applicable to the consolidated statements; may be used by subsidiaries | Policy manual NEW-002 |
| NSA-003 | [Standard or amendment] | YYYY-MM-DD | [Effect] | [Reference] |
The disclosure must describe the effect the entity has assessed. If the assessment is not complete, say so and say what is known. For IFRS 18, the effect on presentation is significant for most entities even though recognition and measurement do not change, so a statement that there is "no material effect" is unlikely to be accurate.
10. Open items, materiality omissions and sign-off
10.1 Open items
| ID | Checklist row | Issue | Owner | Due | Status |
|---|
| OPN-001 (Example) | FIN-005 | Hedge note omits the timing profile of hedging instruments | [@treasury-accountant] | YYYY-MM-DD | Closed in draft 4 |
| OPN-002 (Example) | TAX-002 | Rate reconciliation does not cast by EUR 12k | [@tax-manager] | YYYY-MM-DD | Closed |
| OPN-003 (Example) | GEN-008 | Authorisation date to be inserted | [@company-secretary] | YYYY-MM-DD | Open until board meeting |
| OPN-004 | [Row] | [Issue] | [@owner] | YYYY-MM-DD | [Status] |
10.2 Disclosures omitted as immaterial
Record each omission, the quantitative and qualitative reasoning, and who approved it. Consider qualitative factors as well as size: a small related party transaction with a director, or a disclosure that regulators or investors are known to focus on, may be material regardless of amount. Reassess these omissions each year rather than carrying them forward.
| ID | Checklist row | Information omitted | Reasoning | Approved by |
|---|
| IMM-001 (Example) | LEA-001 | Separate class for vehicle right-of-use assets | EUR 180k carrying amount, 0.1% of total assets; no user interest identified | [@cfo] |
| IMM-002 | [Row] | [Information] | [Reasoning] | [@approver] |
10.3 Sign-off
| Table or section | Preparer | Date | Reviewer | Date |
|---|
| 1 to 5 (Example) | [@reporting-lead] | YYYY-MM-DD | [@group-controller] | YYYY-MM-DD |
| 6.1 to 6.8 (Example) | [@reporting-lead], [@treasury-accountant], [@tax-manager] | YYYY-MM-DD | [@group-controller] | YYYY-MM-DD |
| 6.9 to 6.14 (Example) | [@reporting-lead] | YYYY-MM-DD | [@group-controller] | YYYY-MM-DD |
| 7 to 9 (Example) | [@reporting-lead], [@general-counsel] | YYYY-MM-DD | [@cfo] | YYYY-MM-DD |
The final reviewer confirms that every row is answered, every N is closed or accepted, every IM is approved, and the checklist matches the draft authorised for issue. The audit committee receives a summary of significant disclosure judgements in the Audit Committee Report (finance/audit-committee-report).
