PI Planning Board Template
PI (planning interval) planning record: features, team capacity and load, objectives with business value, train board with dependencies, ROAM risks, confidence vote, predictability results
使用方法: Use it to prepare, run and close a PI planning event for a team of agile teams. Fill the features and team capacity before the event, and the dependencies and ROAM risks during it. The main pitfall is planning to full capacity or drawing dependencies without owners and dates on both sides.

PI Planning Board: [Train name], PI [number]
A record of a planning interval (PI) planning event for a team of agile teams that plan and deliver together: the context and features going in, each team's capacity and objectives with business value, the board of features, milestones and cross-team dependencies by iteration, the risks sorted with the ROAM convention, the confidence vote, and, at the end of the interval, the results against plan. PI planning is best known from the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), where it is a recurring, typically two-day event for an Agile Release Train every 8 to 12 weeks. This page is a generic, original format and does not reproduce SAFe material. Replace every
[bracketed]value and every row marked Example.

2. Team capacity
| Team | Members | Velocity per iteration | Capacity for 4 iterations after leave | Planned load | Load % |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| [Team] | [N] | [Points] | [Points] | [Points] | [%] |
| Atlas (Example) | 6 | 40 | 152 (160 minus 8) | 122 | 80.3% |

| Train (Example) | 23 | 580 | 466 | 80.3% |
3. Team objectives
3.1 Team [name]

| OBJ-A3 (Example) | Claim reference sent by email and text within 1 minute | Committed | 7 | FEAT-201 |
| OBJ-A4 (Example) | Photo quality hints on mobile | Uncommitted | 5 | FEAT-202 |
Example: Team Atlas planned business value for committed objectives is 25 (10 + 8 + 7).
4. Train board

| RSK-01 (Example) | Malware scan vendor contract not signed before I2 | Owned | [@cobalt-lead] | Escalate to procurement, fallback to open-source scanner | 2027-04-16 |
| RSK-02 (Example) | Two Delta members on leave in I3 | Accepted | [@delta-lead] | Capacity already reduced | n/a |

|---|---|---|---|
| [Team] | [Votes] | [Average] | [Concerns] |
| Example: Train | 23 votes: 3 at 5, 15 at 4, 5 at 3 | 3.9 | DEP-02 timing |
Commitment statement: [The teams commit to the committed objectives in section 3 under the stated risks and dependencies.]
7. Results at the end of the interval
| Team | Planned BV (committed) | Actual BV | Predictability |
|---|---|---|---|
| [Team] | [N] | [N] | [%] |
| Atlas (Example) | 25 | 23 | 92.0% |
| Beacon (Example) | 24 | 21 | 87.5% |
| Cobalt (Example) | 27 | 28 | 103.7% |
| Delta (Example) | 20 | 15 | 75.0% |
| Train (Example) | 96 | 87 | 90.6% |
Example: Atlas scored 10 on OBJ-A1, 6 on OBJ-A2 (scan service late, DEP-02), 7 on OBJ-A3 and 0 on OBJ-A4. Cobalt exceeded plan because it completed an uncommitted objective. Delta's shortfall goes to the train retrospective.
